In 2018, at Fenner Hall, ANU, we raised $263.30 for Red Brigade Lucknow. The Red Brigade is an activist group in India who support survivors of sexual violence. Be sure to check out this video about their work, and check out their website.
UNIVERSAL LUNCH HOUR WITH RED CROSS
The Red Cross UniClub and The STOP Campaign collaborated at a Universal Lunch Hour on the Chifley Lawns at the ANU in 2018 to support the #sexualassaultawareness Campaign. The STOP Campaign was there to support Red Cross in their initiative to spread awareness of sexual violence, its prevalence, and detrimental affects on society. The event included a free barbecue lunch and the opportunity to chat to both teams about their campaigns and upcoming initiatives. The Red Cross UniClub had a large canvas to paint your handprint to stand with the slogan: “Break the Stigma. Break the Shame. Break the Silence, End Sexual Violence.”
The Artwork Pledge is a symbolic pledge with the statement 'I pledge to help make my university safe for everyone'. It hangs in the front office area of Fenner Hall (now Gowrie Hall). This event ran over 5 days for a few hours each afternoon which gave students the opportunity to be involved in such a piece that promotes the campaign’s values, as well as the ethos of the community. Over 100 students painted a heart in solidarity, demonstrating such support for the campaign and message itself.
